Business hours of the Samgaksan Citizens Hall are:

Winter Season (November~February): 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Summer Season (March~October): 9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.

(Closes on January 1st, Seollal (Korean New Year's Day) and Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day))

Q[Operation] Are there any parking facilities at the Samgaksan Citizens Hall?

A

Please use public transport, because there is no parking space at the Samgaksan Citizens Hall.

Q[Rental] At what time can I inquire about renting a space in Samgaksan Citizens Hall?

A

The hours available for rental inquiries are Mon ~ Sun 09:00 – 18:00.

Q[Rental] When can I start applying to rent a space?

A

You can apply to rent a space at Samgaksan Citizens Hall 3 months ~ 10 days before the time you wish to rent.

Please apply in advance with ample time because some time is required for the rental application procedure (also for processing submitted documents).

Q[Rental] How can I rent a space?

A

Check the rental standards and processes on the Samgaksan Citizens Hall homepage, then apply on-line at Rental-Rental Applications page on the Samgaksan Citizens Hall homepage.

When filling out a rental application, write the accurate name of the event and describe its content in detail.

If there is no description of content of the event, applicants may be disadvantaged in the review for rental approval.

Q[Rental] What should we do about the setting, such as event tables settings, after the rental period?

A

In principle, the installation, removal and also placing of equipment for the event in the rented space should be under the guidance and supervision of the operation team of Samgaksan Citizens Hall. After the rental, you should restore the space to its original condition.

Q[Rental] Do you issue a cash receipt for the rental?

A

You may find a cash receipt on the Hometax page of the National Tax Service.

A cash receipt cannot be issued at the site.

Q[Rental] Can I apply for rental in another way besides a homepage application?

A

Applications for space rental can be accepted only via the homepage.

However, for people who have difficulties in using a computer, please contact us by phone before visiting the Samgaksan Citizens Hall, and we will help you apply using a PC.

Q[Performance] What are Samgaksan Citizens Hall citizen artists?

A

They are local citizen artists selected through the Samgaksan Citizens Hall artist open auditions.

They energize citizens in their everyday lives through various performances (jazz, band, rap, ocarina, 7080 folk, dance, visual, etc.) at the Samgaksan Energy Recharging Concert.

Q[Performance] How can I become a Samgaksan Citizens Hall citizen artist?

A

Samgaksan Citizens Hall citizen artists are selected through open auditions held during the second half of every year.

Final winners selected through documentation and open auditions can work as Samgaksan Citizens Hall citizen artists.

Q[Performance] How can I attend the Samgaksan Energy Recharging Concert?

A

You can attend the Samgaksan Energy Concert in the Open Lounge on the second floor of Building 1 of the Samgaksan Citizens Hall

on weekdays (once) 13:30 – 14:10 and weekends (twice) 12:00 – 12:40 and 14:00 – 14:40.

The performance schedule can be found on the main homepage and the notice board in Buildings 1 and 2.

A

It is a representative event planned by the Samgaksan Citizens Hall as a special event for citizens to enjoy various genres, such as performances and experiences.

Saturdays are for Visiting Samgaksan Citizens Hall is held every second Saturday in the Open Lounge on the second floor of Building 1 of Samgaksan Citizens Hall.

Q[Performance] How can I attend (participate in) the performances and experiences of Saturdays are for Visiting Samgaksan Citizens Hall?

A

Saturdays are for Visiting Samgaksan Citizens Hall is held every second Saturday in the Open Lounge on the second floor of Building 1 of Samgaksan Citizens Hall.

Visit the site on that day and attend (participate in) the performances and experiences for free.

Although the performances and experiences are free of charge, please understand that seating (participation) is offered on a first-come first-served bases because only limited seats are available.

It is a program of local connection led by a joint operation group that offers a broad range of culture and art to people of various generations.

It is held in Gangbuk-gu and Dobong-gu every month with performances of various genres and experiential events.

A

The Citizens Hall Gallery is a multi-purpose space always open to citizens. It is where various works of citizen artists (the art community) though the Northeast Region Local Artist Support Exhibition Contest are displayed.

Q[Exhibition] What are the opening hours of the Citizens Hall Gallery and how much is the entrance fee?

A

The opening hours of the Citizens Hall Gallery are the same as the business hours of Samgaksan Citizens Hall and admission is free.

Yes, you can.

However, please be careful not to interrupt other visitors.

Most of education/experience programs at Samgaksan Citizens Hall are free.

However, if the education or experience involves practical tasks, there may be a fee to cover material costs.

Q[Education] What kind of program is Our Village Photo Studio?

A

It is a cultural content production workshop recording the current scenes from the region by a photographer and sharing them with citizens.

Q[Education] How can I participate in Our Village Photo Studio?

A

Following a recruitment announcement in March every year, Our Village Photo Studio recruits new participants through email application and documentation review.

The 2019 workshop started in April and is currently in progress.

※ Participants for Our Village Photo Studio will be recruited in March 2020.

A

It is creative experience education for regional children to learn about various cultures and arts together with an artist actively working in the region.

Those who want to participate can make a reservation for Samgaksan Children Wednesday Creation Factory by phone on a first-come, first-served basis and participate on the site. The maximum capacity is 60 people.

Samgaksan Tuesday Cinema is a community movie screening for local children held every Tuesday that shows diverse genres of movies that local children may like.

A

It is a story-telling experience program run by senior local storytellers for children and families.

Storytellers are selected through open auditions held during the first half of every year.

Q[Education] How can I participate in Grandma’s Storybook?

A

Grandma’s Storybook is held every Sunday 11:00 – 12:00 at the Book Café located on the second floor of Building 1 of Samgaksan Citizens Hall. You don’t need an advanced reservation. Applications are accepted at the location.

Q[Experience] What kind of program is Samgaksan Craft Market?

A

It is a citizens’ handcraft market that offers handicrafts made by citizen artists as well as a variety of experiences.

Q[Education] How can I participate in Samgaksan Craft Market as a citizen artist?

A

Citizen artists of Samgaksan Craft Market are recruited through a homepage notice from the 22nd to the last day of the month preceding the market.

For details, refer to the ‘Notice’ board on the Samgaksan Citizens Hall main homepage.

Q[Experience] What kind of program is a permanent experience program?

A

Permanent experience programs are held frequently to improve user satisfaction and provide guidance for the space are as follows:

① Post Office to the Future: A citizen participation program that has people write to themselves and send the letters to them at a random time in their future.

② Open-space Stamp Tour: A tour of the space to get to know the locations and names of each space while collecting various stamped seals.

③ Samgaksan Word Quiz: A crossword puzzle about nearby regions and Samgaksan Citizens Hall.

Q[Education] How can I participate in a permanent experience program?

A

You can participate in a permanent experience program after making an inquiry at the information desk located on the second floor of Building 1.

After completing each program, you will receive a small memento from the Samgaksan Citizens Hall.
